August 2, 2005, the base of the tower at Launch Complex 13. The grey spots are where the paint (containing lead and PCBs) was removed to be weakened by torch and then serve as attachment points for the explosives.

This is where we watched the demolition of the SLC13 tower, from the top of the old blockhouse at SLC 14, site of the Mercury Atlas launches. August 6, 2005.
