Meteorological Tide - A change in water depth caused by winds literally pushing water around so it piles up on one end of a water body.

Midden - A midden is literally a trash dump left behind by Indians. Middens usually consist of clam and/or oyster shells, pieces of pottery called Sherds and small bones of various animals eaten by the people who created the midden.
